Letter from the President - January 2012

Michael Stelmach - 2012 CSHA President

I would like to start off by saying that it is an honor to serve as your 2012 Coating Society of the Houston Area President. I would like to also thank everyone that helped me through the last 3 years preparing me for this position and for your continued support. I hope that I can do half as well as the Presidents that served before me.

2012 is starting off to be a great year for the Coating Society of the Houston Area. January’s meeting was better than well attended and Warren Neuburger gave an excellent presentation to help us kick off the New Year! I know that our new VP Paul Carter is going to continue to set up great technical presentations for the remainder of the year.

This year has not started off easy to the toughest position in the CSHA (treasurer) with a slight glitch in the accountings software, but our new Treasurer Tim Siemek stepped up to the plate going above and beyond to take care of this to make sure nobody was out of pocket. Thank you Tim! You may think that I left off Tom Swan in my thanks but he knows that just not being Treasurer is all the thanks he needs. Just kidding Tom; thank you!

Our next 2 major events are the Painters Competition and the Trade Show. We have diligence on our side that these 2 committees are working hard to make these the best in our history! I would like to thank everyone on the committees for the hard work that you have already put into these events and for what I know that they are going to continue to do!

Finally I would like to thank to most important part of the Houston Coating Society: our members! As cliché-ish (I think that I made up that word since spell check didn’t recognize it) as it sounds we wouldn’t be here without you. Our mission is to serve and advance this great industry and please let us know if and how we can do that better.

Michael Stelmach
CSHA President
